The Challenge
The pandemic was a trying time for everyone, but the tourist industry took the hit particularly hard. Closed borders, halted travels, and empty iconic destinations. And now that things are in the process of getting better, tech is stepping up to help adventure tourism come back better than ever.
Floodin came to life with one goal: to provide adventure operators with a powerful all-in-one video and photo editing tool that helps them capture, upload, and share their customers’ experiences from a unique perspective.
It lets them share mementos no one else could capture while simultaneously promoting their businesses.
As an app rapidly gaining ground, Floodin needed branding that matched its growth and ambitions. Their current branding no longer reflected the brand's stature: it was time for a reboot.
The Solution
In order to help Floodin come up with a new visual identity that felt fresh but also authentic to their values, we had to begin by listening to their founders.
Learning from the team that created the product gave us the feedback we needed to understand their goals and start working on their vision for the future. They knew their field and had very clear objectives for what Floodin’s visual identity should be.
Rebranding started with the logo but quickly expanded to the brand's entire visual identity.
The keywords? Simple, reliable, fun, and exciting.
Based on their needs, we created a branding plan that reflected their values and expressed the true personality that sets them apart from the competition.
Brand Sprint
When working on branding projects, we always start with the essentials: the brand’s current needs, its origins, and its ambitions.
Through a Brand Sprint Workshop, we got to know Floodin's values, what makes them tick, and how they wanted to apply those values moving forward. The fact that Floodin understood their needs and objectives very well was key in this process.
Doing the Brand Sprint Workshop helped us clarify where they were positioned, and their final goal, helping everyone involved envision Floodin's place in the market in relation to their competition.
Branding
The new logo was the first step. It needed to represent both the sense of adventure operators provide and the editing technology that powers the app.
The challenge was combining the elements that frequently go hand in hand in adventure tourism: the outer triangle represents a mountain and the staggered shape within represents a river or water flow.
Finally, the circle represents the red light most associated with a camera actively recording. Bringing the elements together was a challenge, but getting it done was extremely rewarding.

Words connect people. If Floodin’s website is to attract adventure operators, it should connect with them much in the way the operator’s services attract their customers.
